What type of slot car?

What slot cars are the type that look futuristic and have 4 additional wheels that were horizontal at each end of the car so they can maneuver the track better. There wasn't any controls for it, just an on switch and just drop it in the track and you can customize them.

That's not a slot car. That sounds like something Tamiya came out with a while ago, can't remember the name offhand.
Slot cars are a whole different animal altogether. Slot cars have a tongue in the front to guide them on the track, plus contacts on either side (copper tape for homeset tracks, braid for commercial tracks) for electrical pickup. From homeset cars that can barely reach 20mph to the 100+mile an hour mini ICBMs I race, they are
a whole different thing.
